Right as some of you know for my third year architecture studio work, I'm currently redesigning the Plymouth Train Station. In a nutshell my concept is to map out all the exisiting and some proposed cycling and walking routes, as well as suggest a few running routes around the city and surrounding area, including Dartmoor, Saltash and other Parts of the South Hams, then link all these routes back in to the train station as a Gateway for the City This will in turn allow for a simpler way of commuting into and out of Plymouth, as well as encourage a healthy way of linking up the fragemented nature of Plymouth to the surrounding country side and coast line.
In the station there will be secure lockers and bike storage as well as a cafe selling nutrionally balanced food, based around those who exercise e.g Protein sublements for runners and cyclists etc, as well as the standard operations for the train station.
My question to you, and to generally start the discussion off is; have you ever wanted to do your bit for the enironment, but been irratated by the inconveniences of putting words in to action?
I've started a discussion of my facebook page, go to Foras on Facebook to have a read, or even reply/raise question/ or generally tell me it's rubbish, its all constructive!
Thanks a lot everyone, and thanks for visiting my page!
